Nice terrain and units. They never show the armies filled with peasants which will undoubtedly plague the campaign game though.

what does look a bit worrying is how far past the enemy unit the english swordsmen run because no one is blocking them (picture with the battle UI). Not to mension the messed up fromation of the engaged mongol (?) unit. These kind of things never happened in MTW, so it seems soldier AI is still no were near STW/MTW's. But hey, they actualy look around to find new opponents, so we can't complain right ?

o_O? What are you talking about? Those aren't whole units doing what you're saying, but indivual unit AI of one soldier in one unit. The swordsman are obviously charging the Mongols, if you look at the UI you see the Mongol Spearsmen are double-timing, thus it means that both units are charging each other. Not only does it do this in RTW, but if you're charging in full plate, shield and sword waving, I'm sure you'd have a hard time stopping while you have the momentum behind you. Plus the other formation is scattered because they were also running, because in RTW units that ran into formation weren't perfect square right away as they were in Shogun or MTW1. Thus, I see nothing wrong. Infact, the English appear to be in a very neat formation, and you can see them sending in the rest of the first wave to the left.Originally Posted by [cF]Adherbal
wow......nicer graphical campaign map !
The pikemen actually use their pikes with two hands now, and they don't seem to be in that ridiculous phalanx of RTW. I sure hope pikes have been revamped.
Take a look at the screenshot with the battle interface ... that map seems pretty big. It's pretty big, larger than Rome's, it seems.
At least in that shot the enemy formation is cohesive, and actually well-deployed (are those archers on that ridge). Anyway, at least it is my fevered dreams that that army is beign led by the AI.
Well it looks like both the swordsmen and the spearmen are charging.. the units on the left wing of the swordsmen seem to be wrapping around the spearmen anyways, hence the thinner line.
The big thign: SPEED adjustment! It does look like they have a +/- for the speed, it might not be a bar a'la MTW but more speed options is very promising.
The map is also huge and the campaign map is looking better now. More environmental detail for certain.
