    Default Strategic map movement

I've never really modded before (and not at all in RTW), but I was wondering if there is any way to boost the strategic map movement points of characters - it is starting to irritate me that my generals take years to go from gaul to rome. I don't care about regular units - it makes some sense that moving an army takes time, but I'd like to give my generals fairly ridiculous movement points.

    Thanks

The first thing to do before you start modding is to create backups of the original files, in case you need something to fall back upon at a later date.

This tutorial may be of use:

How to - Make all armies move further per turn

As for the battlemap movement points, well you can mod these to your own tastes in descr_battlemap_movement_modifiers.txt, located @ C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data. You'll have to run some extensive tests to get the desired results, it may involve a fair bit of tweaking the existing values.

Currently developing Rome: Total Gameplay (RTG), an unofficial mod for vanilla Rome: Total War v1.5

Features: improved battles, new units to recruit, more buildings to construct, a modified campaign map, and much more!
