    Default Roman expansion

Ave, Right I am going to start a campaign as the Julii. So this will be like a campaign blog with screenshots and writing of what I am doing. What I plan on doing is go for gaul then go into spain and wait a while until I have urban cohorts then invade britian and germany. The only problem is that when I hit 50 settlements the game will stop how can I stop this from happening?

I don't think it does stop, does it? A screen comes up saying do you want to play on.

At least, that's what happened in the WRE PBM I just participated in.

BI has that option, I don't think that RTW has it

RTW has the option for me. I think it would take far too long to wait for the Marian reforms, and you'd definitely be at war with both those factions by then.

No ambitions in the Balkans or in Africa?

Or you could put your entire army on the 2 ships and pillage the big (Syracuse carthage egyptian nile delta) cities for population and have the reforms within 10-15 years. If the gauls get any ideas the senate army usually steps in

It will not stop if Rome isn´t among the fifty provinces, and as long as you´ve got at least patch 1.2 (that´s the earliest version I´ve played with, so I don´t know what anything below is like) installed, you´re given the option to continue when you´re told that you´ve won.

Don´t worry about the Urban Cohorts not being available, considering that the Scipii and Bruti get the richer provinces to conquer, you´ll probably have the Reforms way before you can manage your own Imperial Palace, that´s what happened to me. Also, you only can attack other Roman faction when your popularity with the people is high enough, and building that will take time.

Or until you can build an assassin...

BM: You should blitz the two Gallic provinces from Cispaline Gaul, instead of allowing them to build troops right in your back yard. Also, you should edit your personal title to begin with 'ad', not 'Ad'. The only capitals in Roman sentences are the first letters of proper nouns, ie names.

Well i'll proberly strike Patavium and Mediolanium when I get my next two generals. Ceaser will be one of the attacking generals and the other that I get will be put into segesta.

Thanks for the member title thing i'll do that now.

Beware of that: it no longer works.Trying to start the civil war by assasination in 1.3 and up can land you in a no man's land where other roman factions can attack you but you can't attack them. And it really sucks...

well with 1.0, when the screen comes up telling you you have beaten the game, hit esc and save the game. Then exit to the main menu and load the game. It will be where you left off, but no message and thus you can continue to play on, even after Rome and 50 provinces.
