Standing, but pulling back on the reins so he's leaning backward.

Nice chariots, have only played romans and the hellenistic greek cities fellows but ill be sure to check out some other factions..

Also something I noticed in BI is that the celtic chariots where almost exactly the same as the chariots the Britons had in the normal R:TW, you could see the little flag of the Britons on the back! Think I saw that in RTR as well but thats a minor thought. Anyway to the reskin! Celtic chariots were such a turn off on BI! Not trying to bash CA, it was just an expansion not a completly new game afterall.

    So to you EB

This model was based on the Wetwang chariot I believe. A very nice, very sturdy type of chariot. Much better than those awful wagons they passed off as chariots in vanilla.

    Well I have to comment.

First as John Warry reports in his book Warfare in the Classical World, the driver should be sitting (the chariot looks like it was modeled after a picture in his book).

Second, he shouldn't be pulling so hard on the reins, as a horseback rider, you never actually "pull" or "yank" on the reins, you give a gentle tug. If you did what the driver there was doing, the horse would buck if moving, and would not go anywhere. If you're in tune with your horse, you simply need to touch the reins a certain way. Leave that other stuff to John Wayne movies please.

Finally the chariots were pulled by ponies, not full size horses. But this seems to be problem, the scale of all the horses is far too big to be realistic. Andalusians, Arabs, and other breeds common at the time and used for warfare are small horses. The horses in the game seems to be modeled after the Budweiser Draft Horses, or America Quarter Horses, who are certainly not close to representing the horses used at the time.

That may be taken care of soon, it depends on model space, but there has been some progress on getting a better proportioned ponies for the people who used them.

Ah.. a perfectionist. You should be in EB.

As foot stated, ponies, seated drivers, etc etc should all be in the next build.

    Great!

Now if you cans match the speed of the horses (using the light, medium, heavy, and general horse) to the horses of each region it would really give some realism to the horse aspect of the game!

I plan on doing this myself when I release my edu.txt file for EB after .8 comes out, featuring an entirely unique balancing system that I think is superior to every other system... but I'm not biased or anything ... I'll let you guys decide.
