in a 1 on 1 with fresh units cavalry will not win against infantry when attacking head on. It is only effective when attacking weakened or wavering units, and/or in combination with a flank/backside attack.

Is the square formation a formidable defense against Calvary while weak against other infantry?

yes, because cavalry cannot flank the units, but against infantry only 1 side of the square can fire while the other units remain idle. And it is very vulnerable to artillery fire.

i've seen this previews..and i was awe Struck

... are you sure this is ROME TOTAL WAR??? can't be... i love to see the pine forests you got here...they would be a perfect adition to stock RTW...at least you could really fight in forests...in stock RTW is almos impossilbe to me...those pine trees cut all the visibility, and are quite uggly...and those big forests of giants tress just don't get me started on them... is there a mod that adds this kinds of trees to battles? have you got any publicbeta for us players? i don't like the napolionic wars much..but seing the quality of this mod..i can change my mind a bit...

Totally ridiculous. This is THE best and professionally made RTW total conversion out there. I'm baffled how CA hasn't just snatched this up and publish it as a new Total War game.

I'm not a big fan of the Napoleonic era or wars with muskets but the quality of this mod went beyond mere part-time hobby.
