Can't Install patch 1.2

So there i am... installing a new copy of Rome Total War
Everything goes perfect untill i try to install patch 1.2
It says that patch 1.2 is allready installed and that i can't install it again
But patch 1.2 aint installed
What do i do?
Can't seem to get it to work

I am assuming that you tried to install the 1.2.exe patch. The best thing you can do is format your whole drive with a low level format and start all over. Kidding kidding!!! No for real, just download the .zip format of the 1.2 patch and copy it to the appropriate location. That should fix it up for you.

Once you unzip the 1.2 zipped patch, you don't need to try and run the installer again. Just unzip it to your RTW directory and install EB over that.

Is your "new copy of RTW" RTW Gold? or RTW Eras? If so, this means it is a 1.5 version. That would be a serious problem, as EB needs an earlier version of the game to work. Though some people have made workarounds.

Check some RTW support forums. I had the same problem, it's something to do with the installer. You have to delete a couple of files and then it'll work. I don't remember the forum though, took me a while to find it. I remember they made the topic a sticky though since a few people had the problem.

You can use the uninstalling program to uninstall RTW, then reinstall it. That will leave you with no traces of 1.2.

okay, i managed to get 1.2 installed + EB 0.72 and then 0.74
And each time i enter the game i get the message "Error Loading Mount Database"
what do i do now?

It's not a problem that has been reported before as far as i have seen. That makes it seem like there was a problem that occurred during the download of the mod itself. It is not some problem that we can say "go to the text in line so and so of such a file and replace it with X". If the download is a clean one, and the build is a clean 1.2 one with no other mods and no other patches, then it will work. I don't know what else to say besides that.

did you also delete map.rwm in the imperial_campaign folder?

This is a post by a guy names raul_duke on the Rome Total War Heaven Forum. Doing this fixed my problem. Hope it helps you.
"go to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\Runtime" and delete a folder named "0701". See if this solves the problem"

But I think I just can't get my hands on a clean version of the 1.2 patch, even the one's given here !

Everytime I installe the 1.2 version on my old and just reinstalled version of RTW, it goes to hell, and the game won't start, even after the installation of EB and, worst, he accept no more the 1.3 or 1.5 patchs...

I have tried for several hours now, don't understand the problem.

This patch will work. It is in a zip format (well .rar really) and all you need to do is extract the files and folders into the base folder of the RTW install (the one with the RomeTW.exe in it).

If this doesn't solve your problem then you will need to look elsewhere for a solution. The problem must lie with the downloading of 0.7.2 and 0.7.4. Please make sure you are installing on RTW 1.0 and not any other version.

It is being ported to 1.5 as we speak.

Its just takes time to do these things Corinthian Hoplite both EB and RTR are volunteers doing what they can in between their individual commitments (School, Uni, Work) and in EBs case they are adding even more content and updating things already implemented.

Lately, I've been trying some of the RTW/BI mods. However, I bought a 6600 video card and increased my RAM to 2gigs, so naturally, I wanted to try EB out, again.

Everything works great, in spite of the fact that my computer is 1.6 ghz.

I've got to go to war, now. If anyone else is having trouble with the 1.2 problem, this fixes it ...
