We would be the kingdom of Polabia, we would be a forested mountain and plains dwelling people, but with a coastline of sandy shores and a dozen or so islands to boot. The bulk of our men would fight has heavy infantry in a plate cuirass and pauldrons, with a corinthian helm, kite shield and pike, and a battle skirt bearing the colors of our nation, or as an elite cavalry akin to polish hussars.

We would be content with our lands, our people, our religion and our culture, but we would never accept anything beneath the status of empire. We would live peacefully with neighbors who desired peace, and put those who would wish us ill in their place. If our allies needed help, we would aid them as if they were a member of our own dominion, and those who would dare attack them be summarily obliterated.
