Problem modding unit cards

I've had a look in the Scriptorium, but I haven't found anything specifically relating to this problem - having said that, it's probably there, I'm just too thick to spot it!

I've been able to modify faction colours on unit cards, but I'm having trouble adding extra details. When I add a shield to a unit, it looks fine in Photoshop. When I open the game, however, only the part of the shield superimposed over the original figure is visible.

Eliminating the alpha channels works for the larger unit info picture, but the unit card is left with a plain white background. Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but I'm only working with a trial version of Photoshop and don't really know my way around it.

Any suggestions?

You need to change shape of alpha channel not delete it. In full photoshop you need to select channel tab - then alpha channel - change that - which should be black and white picture - to correspond to the new shape of your unit inc. shield.
