Looking for News and timeline

Hello lads. I was wondering if you knew any good online sources for history news (news related to history, actually) especially military history.

Also, besides wikipedia (which I cannot access) do you have any sources providing historical timelines by month ie. what happened on July in the course of history, or in August or in September etc.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

This site has provides a nice year based timeline for the 4th century BC - 1st century BC for the classical world with source citations.
