    Default questions about 0.8 release and up

    i have a question about the future of EB....

    -after M2TW comes out, can we expect to continue to see developements of EB for RTW? will eventually be a EB for M2TW?
    -i've been seeing around the forums, amazing screens from other mods of awesome looking trees and vegetation, and excelent grass...will we ever see something like this in EB0.8? prometheus Grass is one of the best i've seen, and the trees from Napoleonic 2Total War are simply breath taking...can we expect to see something like it in EB?(i've already tryed doing a few trees but had no luck...)
    -will you make civilians in cities look a bit more like the Stock RTW civilians, and less like gauls and barbarians?
    -is it possible to add civilians to cities during battles in cities...that would rock..civilians running around, while i conquer the city...slaughtering them all! =) is it possible? if it's just a question of editing .txt files, do tell me where and how...=)

    I am not a team member, but these questions have been asked before, so I will answer them from memory.

    Certainly.

    Possibly. When asked about the future of EB, Khelvan did not exclude this possibility, but no plans have been made.

    I think the intention to do so has been announced several times, but I don't know whether any work has been done sofar.

    The problem is that these civilians require model space. Since EB plans to use all models I don't think the civilians will be in the final release. Unless, off course, you don't mind cities exclusively populated by soldiers.

    What about more buildings? like Insulae, Villae, and others? any plans? and Reins for the horses like we already see in a quantity of mods?

    Reins are pretty pointless though, aren't they? All cavalry in EB have one of the following: (I think)
    - 2 handed bow
    - Javelin/sword and shield
    - 2 handed spear
    - Sword and shield
    - Javelin/pontic general's weapon and shield


    Anyway, I have a question myself:

    Is EB 1.0 going to run on vanilla as Khelvan stated (at least I heard that he did) long ago? Or will it be on 1.5?

    It will be on RTW 1.5, we have already completed the conversion from 1.2 to 1.5. I don't understand, why would be go from running on 1.2 to 1.0? Unless you mean BI, in which case that is 1.6 not 1.5. If you mean BI, we have no plans, but you can get 1.5 mods to run in 1.6 quite easily I have heard.

    pointless maybe, but eye candy never hurts...and besides i have heard somewhere, and i think read it too in EB, that some units didn't used reins with their hands..some used their feet to control the reins..now i don't know where..but im pretty sure i did...i guess some desert tribes, and steppe nomadic tribes did...mongols i know they did, further more, the fact that you have a shield on one arm doesn't stop you from holding the reins... to me is eye candy, and i don't mind that=) and BTW has the Romani speaking like greeks/makedonians been solved for 0.8? and the banners, and someother stuff in romani, being showned as greek, like the banners of cities, cities, and walls? is there any quick .txt solution for us with less modding knowledge? i miss earing the speach of my roman generals in Stock RTW...

    Numidians. I remember that they rided without reins or saddle, and controlled the horse only by their feet. But that`s an exception.

    That was a culture slot problem on 1.2 versions, one that doesn`t present in 1.5 versions. In 1.2 you had a fixed number of faction slots for each culture, say 3 for romans, 1 for egyptian, like 5 for greek, and so on. So, the Bactrians ended with roman portraits, and the romans with greek portraits, voices, some banners, etc.

    In 1.5 the number of faction slots in the cultuire groups is free, so you can have 10 barbarian factions with names, portraits, etc, as you can have 1. It`s completely given to the modder`s choice to include the factions they like into the mod withouth experiencing culture problems.

    So the problem won`t show up on 1,5.

    BTW, I advice that before asking some things, go an navigate through the forum and look the answer to this kind of stuff there, cause all that I`ve told ya has already been told elsewhere in the forum. So, you won`t waste time in waiting for a response to your doubts, and won`t replicate threads that already have been discussed elsewhere on this forum either.
