    Default Possible with smoke and firing sound from arrow generators?

    Is it possible to add firing smoke and firing sound to the siege tower firing mechanism (arrow generator)? So that you could have guns instead of bows and scorpions shooting from the top of the siege towers?

    not sure. Do they use the standard arrow projectile or another one from descr_projectiles ? if so, then editing this projectile should do the trick.

    They do use normal arrows, but the sound is independent of the projectile (tried changing to arrows for slingers). That means that the sound is triggered when a unit fires. The siege towers kind of just makes projectiles pop up without having to fire, so after some thinking I'd think adding sound is impossible. But smoke on the other hand is triggered by the projectile, so question is, does anybody know how to add smoke rising from gun barrels etc. after a shot has been fired?

    PS: I know this has been done in the Citadel and Warhammer mod, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to do it by looking through the files from the warhammer mod, and most of the files in Citadel are hidden. Plz

    The sound is handled by sound_unit_fire or something similar, at least that´s the case for normal units, I´m not sure about siege towers.
    For effects like gunsmoke you need both one of the "projectile" and one of the "arrow_trail_effect" files (there are each three of them, I´m not entirely certain which are the valid ones, best to keep them identical).

    And to access the Citadel files you just need xpak and unpack the patch_1.pak in the RTW/Data/Packs directory.

    I ran xpak again, but it didn't seem to unpack the patch_1.pak file. Is there some special way to do this, or do I just run the xpak.bat as normal?

    It actually only unpacks 8 of 10 .pak files. What have I done wrong?

    You´ll have to edit the xpak.bat first to include patch_1 in the list of files to extract.
