But she is also a product. And if she would like to remain a marketable product, then she better get herself figured out.

I am not at all averse to her behavior. We all engage in bodily functions and moments of self doubt or what-not. The real demonstration of this couple's trash-ed-ness is the desire to publish this behavior on the internet. It betrays the business sophistication that a product such as herself should at least partially understand.

Another good example of poor marketing was the Tom Cruise fiasco. He really went nuts in regards to scientology, anti-psychology, and etc. Same with Mel Gibson and his remarks.

Celebrities do best when they remember that they have become a marketable object. There are many that understand this concept, and they engage it with all of the class in the world. Tom Hanks is an example, as is Tiger Woods, Dan Marino, and a few other standouts.

Of course there are those who's absurdity is a component of their advertisement: Pamela Anderson, Howard stern, etc. "Trash" is part of their sales pitch. Ms. Spears should make a decision as to which ideal she wants to embrace and then market herself appropriately. She cannot have it both ways.
