    Question Adding religions to cultures in RTW Help!

    Found it very weird to find no guide on this for RTW, just for BI. Thus I post this. If I'm wrong I really couldn't find anything in the scriptorium.

    How do we make paticular gods available to honour for certain factions? I add to the list of factions available to build. Lets say I made the Scipii capable of building the temples of farming. All I know what to do is add it to the top thread of each building { romans_scipii, faction, faction, } for example. And we go to Export_Buildings in the Text folder and I copy the Demeter section over all the roman sections and I change it from greek to roman. It don't work.

    Also I'm trying to get the temple of trade for the Thracians and the temple of Naval for all the roman factions.

    What am I not doin or doin wrong?

    Exclamation Adding more gods to be worshipped by cultures in RTW Help!

    Damit! By religion you think I mean Christainity, paganism and zonronastium. I just mean adding a new temple building for a culture to build. The problem is explained above.

    Thumbs down Re: Adding religions to cultures in RTW Help!

    Erm I changed the following lines in Export_descr_buildings

    temple_of_farming_shrine requires factions { dacia, carthaginian, macedon, }

    to:

    temple_of_farming_shrine requires factions { dacia, carthaginian, macedon, romans_scipii, }

    So I added "romans_scipii," to every:
    temple_of_farming_{insert building level here} requires factions {dacia, carthaginian, macedon, romans_scipii, }

    Then I went into Export_Buildings in the text folder and I copied from each of the temple_of_farming building greek sections into the roman section just below:

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek} Shrine to Demeter

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek_desc}
    This Shrine is dedicated to Demeter, the Olympian Goddess of Fertility and Grain. She is important in bringing both the harvest and the birth of all things. Worship of Demeter also takes in the hidden cult of the Eleusinian Mysteries. \n\nReligion also makes a people feel happy and content to know that the Gods are honoured. \n\nThis Shrine can be improved as the settlement grows in size and importance.

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek_desc_short}
    This Shrine is dedicated to Demeter, the Olympian Goddess of Fertility and Grain. She is important in bringing both the harvest and the birth of all things.

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_roman_desc}
    WARNING! This text should never appear on screen!

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_roman_desc_short}

    So it looks like:

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek} Shrine to Demeter

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek_desc}
    This Shrine is dedicated to Demeter, the Olympian Goddess of Fertility and Grain. She is important in bringing both the harvest and the birth of all things. {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek} Shrine to Demeter

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek_desc_short}
    This Shrine is dedicated to Demeter, the Olympian Goddess of Fertility and Grain. She is important in bringing both the harvest and the birth of all things.

    Then I change it so:

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek} Shrine to Demeter

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek_desc}

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_greek_desc_short}
    This Shrine is dedicated to Demeter, the Olympian Goddess of Fertility and Grain. She is important in bringing both the harvest and the birth of all things.

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_roman} Shrine to Demeter

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_roman_desc}

    {temple_of_farming_shrine_roman_desc_short}
    This Shrine is dedicated to Demeter, the Olympian Goddess of Fertility and Grain. She is important in bringing both the harvest and the birth of all things.

    And it crashes. please!

    At first sight you did the right things.
    I can only think in several possible error sources:
    - you didn't put a blank space between the last comma and } (check all the building levels)
    - some hardcoded number of temples: I don't know if a faction is allowed to have access to more than three temples.

    Do you use -show_err command line?

    Mistakes in export_buildings will give you a wrong text appearing in any of the menus or rollers about the building.

    Sorry if this is not of too much help.

    Sorry about the late answer. I fixed it, just looked it over and corrected it. Very simple mistakes like too many spaces, too many blank lines etc.
