I don't know if you have Alexander but in lieu of a intro movie CA put in a cut scene of sorts. When you load up the campagin Brian Blessed voice starts on with an introduciton. He told me to exterminate to keep control, so exterminate I did. devil:

that's a bit crazy.
maybe exterminate the Greek Cities, but the rest? it would be better if Alexander could take over eastern cities without any trouble. like in history...
Well there is only 1 Greek city, Sparta. And you start controlling it. The map is very stylized (It looks a lot like the maps shown in the movie Alexander) and abreviated. There are only 32 or 33 provinces and 1 is India which you can't get to.

how? try turning off the fog of war. where are the indians? can you show a pic?
The Indians aren't in the campagin. India is a Persian province, and it's thus impossible to defeat the Persians. As you can't cross the Indus. And the there is a line of coastal trees that are impassable. I do think a screen is in order.Originally Posted by The Spartan

man, thats weird. why would CA do that?
funny however that Alexander looks like the one in the movie.
CA probably didn't alot much time for development. Lots of stuff about it scream quick and "dirty". The Macedonians Persians and Barbarians are just augmented RTW factions. But India would have had to be built from scratch. You can see this in the unit line ups of the those three factions. Macedonian hoplites and phalangists are just re-skins of RTW hoplites and pikemen. Macedonian Companions, Persian hillmen and slingers, all but 2 barbarian units are just cut and pasted from RTW. India however had to have all new models. The elephants are new, the chariots, the cavalry men models, the infantry models. The works really. That takes time to get right. Then you'd need to make all new building models and city scapes.
Although there is one brainstorm I'd wish they had for RTW. The barbarians are actually 4 factions that all have the same faction colour, Mohogany. But they are actually 4 different factions, Illyria, Thrace, Scythia, and Dahae. Imagine is Rome had been done this way. 4 Roman factions all the same colour but with different symbols.

It's possible to defeat the Persians, because there is no Persian family member in Taxilia.Originally Posted by lars573
Maybe when the campagin starts, but by the time Alexander gets to the Indus it does.

Yes, that really puts me of this campaign. I don't like exterminating and I don't think Alexander did it to the extent to which this campaign is geared (did he do it twice or something?). Does anyone know if Alexander enslaved the cities?Originally Posted by The Spartan
Any modders know how to change the default happiness of a settlement?
I'd like to give this campaign a go with a no extermination houserule (& a no retraining one) but suspect it is unplayable if you do. I'd also use the "Total Realism" mini-mod to slow movement and raise defence & morale by 10.
But I guess I'll just have to wait until Lusted finishes his mod.
he exterminated Thebes of course.i think there was one more but i forgot.
