    Default Alexander

    Hi TW Community,
As you probably well know I've been away from the community for some time now (many rome players won't know of me because I hated it from scratch :D) anyhow I'm sliding through the Totalwar.com site and see this "Alexander" addon. Can I get any information surrounding it like when it was released? is it an online only download? Do you need BI installed in order to install this? Is there a large group of players online with it yet, if its even up online yet? and any other information at all I can get surrounding it would be appreciated.

    I await a reply
(slides back into 7Bear7's cave awaiting MTW2 to pounce on my pray again ;) )

Welcome back, proud bear.. And just to point one thing out.. Clibs are what we use now to name the devestating tanks in BI..

    when it was released?
You are kidding.. (Just check some site)
is it an online only download?
You can get with the "Total War Eras" package, and also, when you buy it online, you get the option to have it on a CD (With extra fees).
Do you need BI installed in order to install this?
You need Rome Total War 1.5.
Is there a large group of players online with it yet, if its even up online yet?
I can't see why you're too happy about it.. BI is better IMO, though, answering your question, no.. There is almost no online community for Alexander, and yes, it does have online gameplay.

    Surrounding Info:

Well.. From the Historical side, it goes very exciting. With interesting cinamatics, and nice story-telling througout your advance in the game.. Historical Battles in it are more than worth to play.. And to sum it all up, it gets boring fast (Campaign), but I guess some people just have more stamina, as a lot of the OR-gahs liked it and enjoyed it much more than I did.

Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."

I would suggest trying the NTW2 mod if you want to play something. It just requires RTW 1.5, but is very well put together with some well designed maps and has quite a few people online playing it. It's also been well received by some of the veteran members of my clan (RTK). It's only got the French and Russians in it so far, but that's no big issue.

I agree with cow NTW2 is a very battle orinated mod. Unlike rtw/Bi It actually feels like your in a battle.
