I hope that we can see some new units in the western Mediterranean also. In particular;
1. Balearic slingers
2. Nuragic warriors (Sardinia)
3. A wider selection of mercenaries available in Sicily; the famous Campanians (remember, the Mamertines were Campanian mercs) and other Italians, a more interesting selection of Greeks, & even barbarians (Carthage extensively used Gallic and Iberian mercs in Sicily; so too did Dionysius the Great).
4. Ligurian warriors; the Ligurians served as mercs throughout the western Mediterranean, fought Rome during 230-220 BC, and joined Hannibal in significant numbers in the Second Punic War - lets get some in EB!
5. What about Campanian cavalry recruitable around Capua? The Campanian cavalry were the best arm that that region could field; they were the only Campanian force of any value to Hannibal in the Second Punic War.
6. Elephants. African forest elephants (Loxodonta Africana cyclotis), and perhaps "mercenary" Indian elephants as well (I think there is a good argument that at least some of Carthage's elephants were sourced from Asia), should be available at Carthage. As far as I can tell, despite the presence of the "elephant resource" near Carthage, that city cannot produce elephants. Only Cirta can. Very frustrating.
