Default Suspect in JonBenet Ramsey murder aressted

In Thailand. Where he had fled from the US after being charged with pocesstion of kiddie porn.

Associated press story. I have no link.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
DENVER - A suspect has been arrested in connection with the ten year-old mystery surrounding slain 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, Denver’s KUSA reported Wednesday.

The suspect was detained in Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday morning, the local NBC affiliate said, and was going to be brought to the U.S. within the next two days by a Boulder County District Attorney investigator.

Boulder officials, who would not give the identity of the suspect, were expected to hold a press conference later Wednesday.

JonBenet Ramsey was found beaten and strangled in her parents’ Boulder, Colo., basement on Dec. 26, 1996. A grand jury investigation ended with no indictments, and no arrests were made.

According to KUSA, the suspect in custody knew details about the murder that had not been made available to the general public.

    Suspect held on unrelated charges

Federal officials familiar with the case, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the man was being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges.

JonBenet’s parents, John and Patsy said an intruder killed their daughter but a cloud of suspicion hung over the couple. The district attorney and a federal judge in Colorado have said it is likelier that an intruder was responsible.

JonBenet’s death became fodder for tabloids and the subject of books.
Patsy Ramsey, who died of ovarian cancer in June, said at the time of her daughter’s death that she found a ransom note on the back staircase of the family’s home demanding $118,000 for the safe return of JonBenet.
John Ramsey said he found his daughter’s body in a basement room, wrapped in a white blanket eight hours later.

This breaking news story will be updated.

It's also a great argument against having scum like Nancy Grace on TV convicting people in a public forum without benefit of a trial.

She convicted Richard Jewel of the Atlanta Olympics bombing, along with most of the rest of the media and the FBI and other agencies. He didn't do it. Eric Robert Rudolph pled guilty to doing it. But not before poor Mr. Jewel spent years proclaiming his innocence in the face of TV cretins like Nancy Grace, who declared him guilty on TV.

Nancy Grace, and the rest of the media and the usual suspects in law enforcement, also convicted the Ramseys of killing their daughter, in a public forum and without the benefit of a trial. So now it turns out that Nancy Grace, who is always so very and publicly certain of others' guilt, was once again dead wrong. She should be muzzled until such time as she can figure out the whole idea of innocent until proven guilty. Her opinions don't mean crap. As far as Nancy Grace is concerned, just being a suspect is enough to make one guilty. She disgusts me.

The guys ex wife claime he was in Alabama when the girl died ? Maybe there is more to the story. Either way he's crazy. Not the child molester who you think "wow, would have never guessed he was a child molester". More of the "There is definately something wrong with him" type.

I mean, look at how high he wears his pants.

Nancy Grace is a complete airhead. She gets publicly obliterated any time she has a conversation with a real lawyer.

The only reason why anyone ever puts her on the air, anywhere, in my view is because some men like how she looks (be darned if I know why).

There is absolutely no substance to anything that Nancy Grace has ever said.

Ah the benefits of not watching to much TV - who in the hell is Nancy Grace?

Any bets that this knucklehead is only confessing because he doesn't want to end up in a Thailand prison?

That was a thought that crossed my mind - though it seems that the investigation has taken some months to reach an arrest. He may have other motives for being so forthright too - some people thrive on notoriety. As ever, the evidence will tell.

Slightly ashamed to admit it, but that was a condemnatory thought that grabbed my attention too. Good job I'm not a juror.

Nancy Grace is a former prosecutor who ended up first on Court TV then on CNN Headlines News with her own hour long self-love fest. Apparently her fiancé was murdered while she was in college, motivating her to become a rabid prosecutor. Since then she's sought revenge for that incident by skipping right past the presumption of innocence and fair trial part of our system and declaring people guilty as soon as they're a suspect. She wasn't even particularly ethical as a prosecutor, at least as shown in this law.com article about her being admonished several times by appellate courts over her activities as a prosecutor.

As for this Karr scumbag, I don't know what to think now. His ex-wife claims she was with him in Alabama on the Christmas Eve of Jon-Benet Ramsey's murder. And yet, sources are telling the talking heads on TV that Karr told investigators details of the body that only the coroner and investigators are supposed to know. I'm a bit skeptical of this last bit, considering the past history of interrogations where suspects were led to say things by the investigators themselves, intentionally or accidentally.

At the very least, this guy is facing some jail time for flight to avoid prosecution for an unconnected child pornography case.
