    Blah bluff gah dah bah!
"Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."

Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton.

Idioom?

Sadly enough the original poster meant "language", so this thread 's just the little brother of the Frontroom. Idioma, in spanish, is used more oftenly than lengua, they have their differences but they are translated as "language". An idiom, as in a regional language/dialect, is simply called most of the time dialecto.

All right ... all right ... but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order ... what HAVE the Romans ever done for US?
