Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

I am constantly surprised by the level of intellect represented here by those who post. Altough I cannot post as often as I would like to, it is a great place to take the pulse of the world. I have found that the rest of the world is not so different as some in the backroom might claim. I feel a kinship with many here, even those who have divergent world views than I.

Editing my posts due to poor typing and grammer is a way of life.
I came the summer before MTW was released.
I was drawn by my love for all things Medieval and warlike. I had earlier bought some friends a copy of STW.
Then, I posted mainly in the Main Hall.
After some time, I stopped playing MTW as much. But it was a long time, and I would come back for the mods. They were truly excellent. But I got hooked on the Tavern. It was, and still is, the best place I've ever found for discussion of 'stuff'.
The Christmas after RTW came out, I got it and played it for a couple weeks, then slowly lost interest.
I became interested in EB when Teutonic Knight, I think it was, was still involved and it was only a thread in a forum before RTW came out. I remember they had hoped to provide a bunch of info to CA for a more historical game. We know how that turned out.
After getting RTW, I became more interested, and would eagerly await new screenies in the screenshot thread. I did not like it when they stopped that and started the previews, which every mod seems to do now.
But I lingered there, and even became one of the very early closed beta testers. But that testing session fell through, and with it, I lost interest. I still have the RTW cd, but I haven't DLed the open beta EB. The complete lack of begining infrastructure to build medium troops made me apathetic to it. I don't know if its changed.
But the thing that has held me almost constantly is the Tavern. Here I meet all sorts of interesting people with different views, and, I hope, I have become a much better debater for it.
Somewhat longer than I intended. Ah well.

Ja Mata, Tosa.
The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

It's a link in my Bookmarks.
I realized today, while posting in the sexist language thread, that some of the conversation was at a very high level. I'm tired of shallowness and clichés. Here, some of the forumers converse over my head. That doesn't happen much to be in my offline life. It's challenging and keeps my interest.
Screw luxury; resist convenience.
Crazed- you can build medium/line troops at the start now. EB is definitely worth getting.Originally Posted by Crazed Rabbit
