    Thumbs up Pitoresque Romania

I've recently made a trip into the Apuseni mountains to see some a cave with a 3000 year old iceberg inside. We didn't get to the cave, because of the bad roads and because it was closed at 6 p.m., when we got there. We've resolved it at the final, by visiting another great cave, called Bears Cave(it's considered one of the most beautiful caves in the whole Europe).I've travelled by car, so I can see the landscape better. It produced some amazing results, as you can see from these photographs.

Looks very nice, but I'm worried. My first thought about "Green landscape" was 'What a great place for longbows to stage an ambush...'

But, yes, I would like to see more. It's not like the stereotyped ideas of Romania that I grew up with in the Cold War in the west.

It's sort of like Wales without the rain.

Thanks for sharing some of your country edyz. There are some beautiful landscapes there. I'll agree with Ludens on my favourite ones but I'll add "Night on the Transfagarasan" to the list.

This would be a nice idea for a series of threads from patrons to showcase the area/country they live in. Mithrandir asked me a month or so ago to go on a "photo safari" of my town because he likes to see the areas where people live. I've been mentally preparing a list of locations for such a safari. Maybe I'll just share it here in the Frontroom once I've completed the mission.

    Is there more edyz?

Again, nice pictures, although I don't understand the purpose of the .Org one. How do you get such good night shots? My attempts all get blurry because I cannot sufficienty stabilize my camera (I've got a tripod, but it is a bit too big to fit in my bag, and I don't want to carry it everywhere just for a few shots).

The Org one... Well, there were many old leaves in that pic. So, the Org. A big mess, formed of spammers, intelligent guys, hot heads, babe threadders...

I have a Photosmart R927, which supplies some good night shots. I often set it on Auto mode, which sets automatically the shutter speed. It's a perfect camers for my needs, I bought it for approx. 300 euros(special price, you can find it at 400 too...).
