I just started up RTW after a year...

I used to play rome total realism but this mod I already like better, but I haven't played for at least a year of RTW or any of its mods.

I'm pretty new now and forgot most of the techniques, so what would a good starting tribe/race or whatever be? I was thinking of starting off as Pahlava, but wasn't sure.

I'm totally biased so I say play as Arche Seleukeia you start with an over extended empire with provinces that are underdeveloped and rebellious no army and your surrounded by enemies one of which (Ptolemaioi) usually becomes the dominate economy of the game.

You should also know that a new version is coming out soon that has a lot of added content and bug fixes called 0.8 this will be for the 1.5 version of RTW a lot of people are waiting on this before starting a campaign but its up to you if thats what you want to do as well.

Well at least you guys give a reasonable time period( I heard only 1 month or less in another thread)
RTR only said "when it is done" BLAH BLAH BLAH.

They haven't said anything at all about it. No screenshots , no previews not even a leakage in a random thread.
I got sick of that a long time ago.

We really aren't giving time estimates though. It very well could be a month, but if we have problems it could be more for sure. We aren't trying to make this our final release or anything though - if we keep having problems there's always the option of releasing another step on the way to 1.0 slightly less than 0.8. Who knows...
