On a more disturbing note I've been on a footy forum and its sounds like a Zenit fan's been stabbed.

Not too much of a surprise, unfortunately. Seen a number of unsettling pictures
too, and a video of Huns fighting amongst themselves. Seems the police'll have a
job on their hands tonight, nevermind A&E.

Edit: Hull mauled Watford 4-1 [6-1 aggregate] to reach the fizzpop play-off final.

Any particular [interesting] reasons for preferences? I'd quite like to see
Bristol go up, perhaps just to see Scudamore publicly feel the pain as his
beloved Robins challenge Derby's record - other than that, not really fussed.

That Dean Windass [in fact, minor Aberdeen cult hero] has a chance of playing
in any top flight again is quite remarkable, though.

I feel sorry for whichever one of Hull or Bristol goes up. A season of getting absolutely rogered by everyone else in the division in return for some parachute payments? Not very much fun really.

I actually think Bristol might be able to beat Derby's record for least points if they're the unlucky ones.

I hope bristol go up purely on the basis i used to live there, haven't really seen any championship football to judge them on style or anything.

Jut realised i hadn't come here to gloat about man utd's great success, so there it is.

    Portsmouth Vs Cardiff this saturday!!

I have been waiting all my football supporting life for a first divison team to win the FA cup, the closest ive come is middlesborough winning it the season they got relegated.

As much as i would love cardiff to win i really can't see past portsmouth this saturday, portsmouth haven't got a place in europe this season so it is almost as big a game for the portsmouth players as it is the cardiff players, i think portsmouths extra class will show

Portsmouth 2 - 1 Cardiff is my prediction, though no doubt i will be miles off...

Oh I dunno they will probably take a panning every week but then they could build on their stay in the EPL. We were a 'yoyo' for a couple of seasons until we got the right squad together. Sunderland also spring to mind. Ask their fans and I'm sure they'd rather be at the bottom playing Liverpool and Man Utd. etc etc than at the top of the fizzy pop playing Scunthorpe.

Notable Yo-Yo clubs that became a success in the Premiership are Middlesbrough, Bolton, Sunderland, Birmingham and Charlton (until last year).

It was a bit better than last year's, at least. The first half was decent, but I must admit I was yawning rather a lot during the second.

Definitely much better than last year's final, but still quite rubbish. People keeps on saying it's better without the big four but I say it least one of them should be in the final. Remember 2 years ago with Liverpool V.S West Ham. One of the greatest Cup final you'll ever see in your entire live. Also some amazing goals and saves.

Not really too surprised, assuming the likes of Thuram, Sagnol and Abidal will be
fixtures until death. [Or rather, Domenech's.] Would've thought one might have
made it in place of Clerc or Squillaci.

Know I'm glad someone else isn't going, though.

Ever wondered what they do during the close season?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
A football referee and linesman who officiated in 67 matches while claiming mobility and care allowances has been given a suspended jail term.

Keith McNiffe, 49, who earlier this year stood aside as mayor of Pembroke, must repay £9,223 and also carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work.

He was twice secretly filmed acting as a linesman.

He had admitted two charges of failing to notify the Department of Work and Pensions of a change in circumstances.

Prosecuting, Alex Ferguson told the court that McNiffe had been claiming both mobility and care allowances at the highest rate since 2002.
