Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
err, wait. If I read the story right, its basically, "man watches webcam in Liverpool, sees three scallies shoplifting"?
You'd have to be at least as far away as Texas to find THAT surprising...

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Just spent much of three days at the Mathew St. Festival (that shop is at one end of the street) watching groups from all over the world playing mainly '60s British music. Best bands seen were an awesome Swedish Rolling Stones tribute group and a Russian ensemble with a stunning little blonde lead-singer, sort of like Christina Aguilera but better looking and the most amazing voice. It's a really cool experience to go to somewhere like the Cavern and talk to people from Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina, US, Canada, Russia, Spain, Italy, Japan, Norway, etc, etc, etc, all in the space of about three hours before moving on to the next venue.![]()
