yep so I gave it a try a second time and it didn't work![]()
I have RTW 1.0, I upgraded to 1.2 and have EB. I went to RTW folder and dug through until I got to Imperial Campaign, then I also had a second screen with the Base folder open, and finally I moved the whole Imperial Camapign to the Base folder.
I started EB, when to Historical Battles and all the Old battles where there EXEPT the new one.(again)
Am I missing something fellas.......![]()
the new battle has been put into "battle/custom" and not just into "custom" right?
EDIT: So I'm trying to make a couple of historical battles, Pydna 168, and the battle between Bolgios and Ptolemaios Keraunos near Pella in 280. I've had a couple of problems: I can get units to show up as smaller than standard size, but not larger (phalanxes of 272, for example), and I can't find elephants (the Romans should have some at Pydna, and the Makedonians should have them at Pella). Aside from those design issues, the main remaining problem is getting either army to cooperate at Pydna (can I make both armies be in attack mode?), and then just balancing things to make them fun.
So here's a shot from Pella: I was actually playing as the Galatia. Those soldiers were ripped by the hetairoi. I could have redirected them, but I enjoyed watching the charge...
Any guidance would be much appreciated!

My guess is that you are installing the battle into the wrong folder.Originally Posted by NeoSpartan

Again, I don't have any idea why you can't change unit size. There is a size limit, but think it is like 300 or something. I also think that you can't have any less than five in a unit, but I'm not sure. If you can't find a unit in the battle editor than edit the descr_battle manually. So I'm trying to make a couple of historical battles, Pydna 168, and the battle between Bolgios and Ptolemaios Keraunos near Pella in 280. I've never tried, but I'll look into it when I have time.Aside from those design issues, the main remaining problem is getting either army to cooperate at Pydna (can I make both armies be in attack mode?), and then just balancing things to make them fun

It's appearing in my historical battles list, and I can see the unit selection; however, when the battle is nearly loaded it CTDs and I get the message
This is installed over a completely new EB 0.74 install with the TK421 chariot mod and the new Romani GUI, following the given instructions in all cases. Any idea what I may have done wrong?Generic Error :

It might be that chariot mod, but tk is the man to answer that particular question then.
I've never had that happen to me before, but that is a probelm with a file I changed in my minimod. The way to fix it would be to go to the descr_model_battle.txt located in the data folder, search for the word "tgaa" and replace it with "tga". If that doesn't work than I don't know what to say.Originally Posted by Geoffrey S

Fixed! Cheers for that, I'll try the battle later.

When are we going to see this battle for 0.8?
When there's a lull in new units to stat and the mappers stop messing with stuff for awhile.

Ok thanks for the quick response![]()
Would this still work with EB 0.81a?

Probably not. I bet some unit name changes have been made, which would result in CTD's. And the map has changed, tough the latter might not cause a ctd it might change the battle map.
Thanks for the info. the download link is dead anyway. Perhaps it is time to unsticky this?Originally Posted by Moros

Moved this to the unofficial modding projects so it won't get lost as easily - maybe someone can reanimate it in our current build - at the least, it has a lot of the legwork done if anyone wants to do it.
