    Default I am Worried!

    Hi there!
Recently I got back to an Armenian campaign that I had put aside to play Alexander TW. Everything is going great. It is the year 222 and I have 42 provinces with Rome in sight. The Julii and the Brutii are giving me a great fight sending stack after stack to battle my hordes of HAs and Cataphract Archers.
I felt pretty good about the campaign until it struck me. The Romans are still sending Hastatii, Equites, Triarii, etc. Why haven't they reformed? I haven't checked any of the cities on the Italian Peninsula, but Rome has huge walls, and several of my cities along the Black Sea have over 30,000 population.
Is my game broken? Everything was normal before I installed ATW.
Any ideas of what might have happened?

    Hi,
There is nothing wrong, usually the AI sends its old junk to hit you before they send the shiny new legionaries, give it a while kill a couple stacks and pretty soon you can kill their pride and joy.

No, I am really worried. You know that the Reforms had happened when the Egyptian general changes from a chariot to a horseman. That has not happened yet, so no reforms for sure.
I've conquered 50+ provinces with all major factions + Macedon and Pontus, and by the time a have 25-30 provinces I encounter the upgraded Romans.
I think ATW did something to my game. I notice the AI is a little better since I installed ATW, which is considered a patch 1.9 or something like that. I have uninstalled ATW, but don't want to start over a new Armenian campaign as it took me over a month to get this far. I guess I am just going to finish it off and hope that my new campaing with Dacia won't be the same as this one. I will be closely monitoring the Romans.
I guess, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the lack of reforms in the Romans.
I know there were a lot of people complaining how the Reforms happen so quickly, Triarii were never used, so they might have done something to postpone them.

IIRC, CA have changed the Marius Reforms trigger. It used to be a level 5 city (Imperial Palace) in a Roman city, but now it's a random event!

Historically, the Marius Reforms happened around 107 BC! I haven't played the Romans for a while but I hope you don't have to wait that long. I believe they changed it to happen around 200 BC or so. There's a text file somewhere in your rome total war\data folder that holds all the dates (given in turns) for all the events. Look it up.

In 1.5 the Marian Reforms occur when any Roman-held city in Italy excluding Rome and including Sicily and Sardinia becomes a Huge City. Since Rome doesn't count I never see the Marian Reforms in my games until around the years 225-215.
