Thread: African Land Block

    Default African Land Block

Hello there. I would like to know if its possible to create a land block, an invisible barrier if you will, in africa so that Carthage and Egypt don't get in a slugfest with each other and instead expand in more historical directions. I'm using the XGM mod if that makes a difference. Would anyone know how to go about this? Thanks.

Add a mountain range?? Or a river with no crossing. Of course, this would make your map historically inaccurate. Another way is to add a rebel region in there, and hide the rebel city somewhere no faction could get to. This is a bit complicated I'm afraid.

Or how about just editing the alliance and make them very, very friendly with one another?

nikolai1962 did a huge amount of work on trying to get Carthage to expand overseas rather than across the desert. You can find what he did here:

Actually I was thinking of something a bit different. Is it possible to make the provinces unadjacent to each other in one of the descr texts? Would that keep armies from marching from one province to another?

Every province has to be adjacent either to another province or the sea - there are no land areas that are not in a province - so the only way to make them unadjacent would be to put sea or another province in there. Province borders are controlled in an image file map_regions.tga so, no, text file changes aren't enough to change their borders.
