Wallpaper Competition Results!

The moment of truth has come!

This time to announce the results of our recent wallpaper competition and who gets a Total War Eras Pack direct from the Creative Assembly.

The wallpapers were judged by a team of three .org members and two CA staff. We've decided that to mention only one winner would be to overlook so many great wallpapers that we've expanded the awards slightly to include three runner up categories. These are:

Overall Winner:
Decided by all five judges, one man one vote.

Runner up:
Again, decided by vote by all five judges.

CA's favourite:
CA's favourite wallpapers apart from the winner

Special mention:
All those mentioned by the judges as being quality wallpapers.


The awards
So without further ado, The Winner is:
Lacedemon:



Fantastic setting and atmosphere, very original and a good quality piece of art. Of all of Lacedemon's wallpapers this one stood out as the one of the best quality and with the best attention to detail. Simply the finest original desktop, and a deserved winner of an ERA's pack. Congratulations to Lacedemon!

The best closeup of the MTW knight, we were particularly impressed with the use of lighting and shading effects to create a somewhat painted look. Great attention to detail in some areas of the background. Overall a very eye-catching desktop wallpaper.

Duke John - Clash at Sunset: Despite not wishing his wallpaper to be entered into the competition, this one is of good enough quality that I just can't get away with not mentioning it.

Finally in summary of what's been a great competition, CA will be showcasing a selection of the desktops entered for the competition in the MTW2 Wallpaper download section at the .com. The artistic talent in the TW community has made this great fun, we may do something similar again...

Even though I posted this thread, I still feel I ought to add my congratulations to Lacedemon and all those who entered.

Very, very nice work all, and congrats to Lacedemon & Alias. It was great fun to watch the competition unfold.

Wow, I'd seen the first few entries to the contest and then haven't stopped by this part of the .org for awhile. Dropping by today I'm blown away by the gorgeous art on display here. Thank you for sharing your abilities with us to all who participated, and you winners have my deepest respect.

From the nomination i pressume that if my artwork would have participate it would take the core desktop wallpaper as it seems they prefered a single object wonderfully presented with effects rather than many bacrounds screenshoots like mines.
