Help Vanilla balance mod is messing up my game

I have the original Rome:Total War (No BI installed) with the 1.5 patch installed. I downloaded the VBM v1.1. Afterwards whenever I try to start a new campaign the game just goes straight back to the main menu. How can I fix this? Also after I unistall VBM my game keeps crashing back to the desktop.

You should try show_err. Right click on your RTW shortcut, go on properties, and on the line "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" or whatever, add -show_err. So it looks like:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -show_err
Then when you get your problem exit the game and it should give you a message.

I've answered this over at the Colosseum - hopefully is just an issue with installing over an incompatible (i.e. pre-1.5) version of RTW.
