    Default Plame leaker (finally) identified

It was reported today that Novak's source was Richard Armitage, a State Dept official.

That's probably going to make Wilson's lawsuit alot harder.

Well thank goodness for that, seeing as it was the only CIA leak case worth worrying about.

To think someone might have casually leaked something that could be construed by nutjobs as a serious partisan attack!

Oh well, now we can get back to not demanding investigations into who leaks state secrets.

State, STATE?!?!?!?! After all this?! I probably shouldn't most more; I'm vexed, terribly vexed.

It does bring a few interesting thoughts to mind though....

Armitage (obviously) and Powell (apparently) knew who the leaker was from the very beginning. Yet, they chose to say nothing despite orders from the Whitehouse for the leaker to come forward... why did they just sit idly by and watch the controversy grow and grow?

Also, it makes you wonder what kind of fishing expedition Fitzgerald was really on when he knew from the outset of his investigation who the leaker was...

Hmm. I've been pondering this a bit.

It seems that the big, enormous hubub some people raised about how this was some evil conspiracy by the puppetmaster Karl Rove to lash out against people who critized Bush was wrong.

Funny, isn't it? This was a huge story, it became imperative to many who normally love it when CIA stuff is leaked that we find this leaker and throw them into a deep dungeon.

And now we don't get a 'oops, I guess you all weren't Bush lapdogs'.

    Ah well.
