Default Conservative Named Winner in Mexico... Finally

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americ....ap/index.html

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- Felipe Calderon became president-elect of Mexico on Tuesday, two months after a disputed election, when the nation's top electoral court voted unanimously to reject allegations of fraud and certify his narrow victory.

His leftist rival, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, had said he would not recognize the ruling.
    It's about time.

Mexico's government is what is going to take it backwards.

Does this mean we git rid of them?
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

You don't know much about Mexico do you?

Do you realize that the current government of Mexico is conservative, and is a vast improvement over the previous government of Mexico? Do you have any idea of the vast corruption of the Mexican Government and the steps and risks Mr. Fox had to take to make the minor and correct fixes in an attempt to halt some of that corruption? (an aside is that other areas have actually become more corrupt - but he has indeed attempt to cure some of the ills of the Mexican government appratuse.)

Don't confuse Mexico's conservative party with any other nation's brand of a conservative government - you will lead yourself down a path of poor generalizations that are easily proven false.
O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean

If Mexico ever solves their endemic corruption issues, a surprising leap forwards would be experienced by the Mexican people -- and I might not have to subsidize so many.

Mind you, a bit more policing of our industries employment practices might not be a bad idea either....
