RtR is an excellent mod for Rome, its the only thing that has kept me interested in rome
But its down to personnel choice, whats your favourite historic period and do you have an abundance of pennies ?

Hmm, pennies...my coffers are a bit stale at the moment. They will replenish for the time being. For favourite historic period, hmm Im at a split between the Medieval Age and the Age of Antiquity.Originally Posted by ShadesWolf

But really Im kinda leaning towards Antiquity times.
After the Medieval Ages, history to me has gotten 'blah'.
But its just me.

<opinion>Get RTW, the time period is cooler </opinion>
Well, since there's going to be some time before reviews and forum goodies about MTW2 come out, get RTW first. It is much cheaper, and it certainly is worth the money at the price it's selling right now. I bought it for 50$ in the early days and never looked back -- and those are the buggy days, and the days without the fantastic mods that we have now. RTR is pushing to 7.0 and EB is pushing to 0.8, both of which hold great promises on their own.
RTW Gold is pretty cheap for what you get, the patches have helped the game, and there are some great mods out.
Nobody knows how good M2TW will be. I'd say wait for reviews (especially community reviews) and then make up your mind.

If you do not have many Total war games I would actually suggest getting the Eras pack. it has everything and i found it at a relativley good price from the cd store I got it from. If you do have many then I would suggest You buy RTW simply because a collected set looks much better than one with a few games here and there, Also if your funds are somewahe stretcehd I sy get RTW ASAP and save for M2TW, They are both two different games that will offer you two amazing gaming styles.
