Non canonical writings

Recently I have taken an interest in the non canonical writings that are present that were not viewed as "good enough" for the Bible.

Here is a good list of the many that are available.

Do any others feel that the church should review the texts that are available, and include these that will add so much to the knowledge of the early church?

Of course some differ widely from the canonical and are the remains of branches of Christianity that were stamped (and often, stabbed, hung and tourtured) out of existence.

In essence, should the Church use this material to attempt to preach accurately the teachings of the early church, or continue to ignore all this material/
