    Default Ekdromoi and their Uses

What do you guys use Ekdromoi as?

Because I use "Romanized" Formation I don't use them as flank guards

(IE My formation goes with Thuerophorioi,Throrakitai and then Thorakitai hoplitai)

Now this what I did, of course recently my game got screwed Up and I'm stuck playing Romans in RTR(really I can only play Romans)
And added to that I lost the 2nd Cd and am missing a chunk of the Desc.unit.
    Help would be honored.

But anyway I used Ekdromoi as, well Line infantry in some armies, good against the Romans for some reason.

well in my KH campaign, i use them for my patrol armies, to flank my 1 unit of torakitai oplites on the right side, while i use torakitai (or thureoforoi) to flank the remaining 5-6 units of oplites ifrikates on the left side...

in my mayor army, i tend to use only torakitai to flank my oplites (2-3 units of torakitai oplites, and 3-6 units of oplites ifrikates +4-5 torakitai (i dont use thureoforoi in my mayor army).

Fighting Roma, it seems Oplites are quite good (I have no problem on that, at last not so much problem as to fight against the successors who have better phalanx), even if you are in Italy, i found Samnite (Spearmen as main line, with defense mode on + heavy infantry on the flanks, with defence mode off), are very effective against Roma. (the samnite spearmen, if putted in 1 line on defensive mode are a great phalanx-like substitute)

I use Ekdromoi for killing light infantry, pursuing nearby routing units, and flanking manouvres.

Ekdromoi are a good substitute for chasing off high valour ranged troops that would otherwise slaughter your expensive Hippies.

I really didn't use them in my KH game, except early on as flank guards for Taxitai (Or whatever they are called) hoplitai, after that the Peltastai and Thereophoroi are better.

In my opinion Theurophoroi and Ekdromoi have few differeneces, they have the same armour rating, just theurophoroi have Javelins and Ekdromoi have speed..and looks.

Really the only reason I use Theurophoroi is because they are the "Hastati" of the greek World.
