Thread: RTR question, please help!

  1. #1

    Default RTR question, please help!

I have RTR 6.2 and I'm experiencing a glitch with the main menu. At the time when the loading screen fades away to the main menu, it freezes, leaving an image of both the loading screen and main menu on the computer.

    Please help.

Delete your preferences.txt file or copy one from Vanilla.

I have had this problem before and I *think* your windows media player needs updating. Someone else should confirm this though.

Yes, I have a vague memory of encountering this. If you can guess/decipher where the relevant buttons are, you should still be able to start a campaign ok. But it is too annoying and I think updating windows media player will make it go away.

I updated Windows Media Player to WMP 9, and I still encounter the problem. I'm running 98 so I can't use WMP10.

    This is really annoying me!

OK I searched the forums here, and it seems this is a common problem of RTR. I'm just going to uninstall the mod, reinstall vanilla, then shoot for EB, hopefully that will be a lot less glitchy...
