Thread: Is this mod bug free enough to play it?

Default Is this mod bug free enough to play it?

I was in eager anticipation of this mod so I downloaded the first version to come out, that one was so buggy I didn't feel like playing it.

How bug free is the latest version with patches?

Did you upgrade to 0.74? And what do you mean by bugs? Do you mean ctds? If so 0.74 is very stable. If you mean missing descriptions and missing Unit Cards, then 0.74 is still buggy.

0.74 with the Reinforcement CTD fix is quite playable. Some UI cards and descriptions and so on are missing, but on the whole it's stable. I haven't had a single CTD after installing the Reinforcement CTD fix.

Do you guys have an approximate idea when it'll be more or less complete?

EB still needs A lot of balancing as atm combat is all about elite units rather then tactics most of the time. So in that respect it is very incomplete.

Sorry, Darkbiter, this is not a "balancing" issue. We are not going to balance units so that they are all the same. Some were better than others, and they will perform this way on the battlefield. The "balance" is that the elite units cost much more to recruit.

I agree. The elite units are balanced. It's supposed be feel when you meet an army with elites. You are scared and on your toes and you use your best tactics to get rid of them as soon as possible. Great.

And when you use elite units they are really expensive, you do only afford one or two per stack. Max. And when that's the case, they have to pay up. Which they do.

And even if the mod is incomplete, it's the best.

Maybe he didn't refer to their stats, but to the amount of them being recruited... The infamous 'stack after stack full of triarii' issue, something more people have had some complaints about.

Fun thing though that 0.7.4 is currently rather stable. - I, for one, have never experienced the infamous reinforcement CTD on a clean 0.7.4 build, and trust me: I've had lots of reinforcement battles, and plenty of Heroic Victories in those battles as well.
