A Korean War FPS. Now that would be good. Plenty of room for individual initiative, small-level command, varied situations, environments, etc. It's funny how many FPS are set in WW2, and how none (as far as I know) are set in that conflict.
Hopefully they can get the close combat system so it isn't just the best button masher wins. That was were the battle were decide. The attacker usually closed as fast as possible to get out of the musket and canister fire. You might be right about a Napoleonic shooter, but the ACW saw the widespread use of the rifle and ultimately ended with troops dug in, WW1 style, to try to limit its lethality. An ACW shooter is a pretty cool idea. And if occaisionally you have to advance in close formation, while everyone around you is getting shot to hell like at Fredricksburg or during Pickett's charge, that might even add to the attraction. (Think Saving Private Ryan...).
When it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important and that she feels she would not maim the universe by disposing of him, he at first wishes to throw bricks at the temple, and he hates deeply the fact that there are no bricks and no temples

I remember the English campaign in EE.
The lasts scenarios are of Napoleon
Names, secret names
But never in my favour
But when all is said and done
It's you I love
