Our spider is gone. It was the large garden spider whose picture I posted in the Gallery III thread. She had grown quite a bit fatter since I had taken that picture. Just yesterday my wife and I decided to name her Charlotte. Alas, today I checked on her and she wasn't in her web...and I had wanted to take her picture one last time before lays her eggs and dies.

Live for today my friends, for tomorrow your spider may be gone.

Gah, I never knew workouts for ski racing teams could be so exhausting for the arms and shoulders.

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

If I ever meet a girl named Charlotte, I'll never be able to enjoy her thanks to Gregoshi.

Only if the tile is racing and you floor it to take the lead on a short circuit.

Rather than this being an off-topic thread, this can be an all-topic thread! That way we can talk about anything and everything!

Why do they call it a "paper" clip when it is made out of metal or plastic?

I like stretching paper clips and then bending them together to form a long chain. It kinda hurts my fingers though.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
