Down with the enemies of Byzantium!
The Bartix thread is good for your health!
Cheers - couldn't find it initially!
Seems that CA want to leave us in the dark as usual which is a bit sad - you'd think if PC Gamer did have an exclusive they'd be shouting about it on the totalwar.com site so that their buddies at PC Gamer would get more sales. I'm from a marketing background myself (not in the games industry) and I think CA and PC Gamer are missing a trick here and also letting down their customers with lack of info!

Well several places are announcing it as mid october. So that's when it is. Given the history that most major filesites, gamespot, fileplanet what have you, advertise up coming demos a week before they came out, I think it's pretty safe to say September is out of the running.
Then it's all debate of which week of October that first Monday is the 2nd and I highly doubt it as we get 0 official demo news. So I would guess second or third week of october, currently seems the Third Week.
I agree tho, why CA can't even logically say something like, "Yes the demo will be out in october" Is beyond me. There lack of contact astounds me sometimes. Despite there claim to being gamers I think they can't be, no gammer would leave a fellow gamer in the dark 24/7 about a game they love other then a bi weekly blog update.
Worse, they implied somewhere that release would be "imminent", although now I can't remember where I read that (maybe Soulflame's question and answer session?). Probably just someone at CA making the mistake of being overly enthusiastic about their progress, but without that having been said I think people would have resigned themselves to a demo release around one month prior to the game's release, just like RTW (which would correspond with what we've been hearing lately). But expectations were unnecessarily heightened.Originally Posted by Polemists
