    Question Body Language

    Interesting video clip of our President being confronted with some questions about detainee treatment. Two things make this of note -- first, it's in an intimate setting, one-on-one. Second, the camera captures the President's body from the waist up, which allows us to see more of his posture and body language than we would normally catch.

    It's a short clip, so have a gander. I'd be interested to know what other Orgites think of the President's body language. Anybody with a background in poker or law enforcement should be able to spot several tells. I would love to gamble against this man; he's broadcasting his intent loud and clear.

    He always gets snappy at reporters.

    @Lemur:

    The scary part is: We are gambling with this man!

    Time to check, eh?

    So, you're saying that it's bad he's not good at lying (bluffing)?

    Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

    I wasn't saying it was good or bad. I thought it was a very clear example of someone's body contradicting their mouth. In real life, you rarely get someone broadcasting that clearly.

    I didn't really pick out any tells...he just seems like an incomprehensive douchebag to me.

    He appeared very strung out and slightly belligerent in his movement. He was obviously trying his hardest to be a Politician and go through the entire interview rather than walking away or punching the guy.

    It looked like he was trying not to look mad but was obviously not very happy with the guy. A bit of a silly excuse though.

    Seemes like he wanted to intimidate the reporter, talking about the reporter's family and people who want to kill his family.
    It was like he admitted that unlawful torture is being used, but if found out, his lawyers are to blame since they said it's ok. Then again, noone should be upset because he tortures people only for the good of the americans.
    I should focus more on body language, but his speech itself seemed to give away enough anyway. If only he had simply answered a bit more directly instead of evading all the time...

    And I agree that the excuse of the enemy adjusting sounds silly.
