I like the Strzelcy. CA's units look so much better this time - more gritty and realistic than the dayglo RTW units.
I've added a poll - the thread topic was crying out for one.
Reviewing all the units (I've listed them in reverse order of appearance), I can't help feeling they have gotten better as we come close to the release date. Both graphically, in looks, and also in terms of originality and historical interest. Maybe I am imagining it.
I guess I'd vote for the Scots Guard. As a realism fan, I like the fact that it is not a MTW retread or a bland generic unit, but an interesting and genuine historical unit that I had never heard of. Total War has always been an education for me; long may it continue to be so.

Tough one, I for one don't like the fully plated things and knights much. So it was close between Trebizond Archers, Huscarls and Strezlcy.
In the end I choose for the Trebizond Archers, but I would have voted for all three if I had the chance.

Venetian Heavy Infantry. Tough-looking, with minimal frills, and armed with a spiked hammer! I simply can't wait to see what they do to armored opponents.![]()
Zweihanders were a close second, though, as I imagine them being a European equivalent to my old STW fave, the No Dachi. Man, I loved that unit. Wind 'em up and watch 'em carve through the enemy line. Ah, fond memories.
