I've been wondering this for a while, what are the major differences? Is pro really worth the 100+ dollars?

My father's sole piece of political advice: "Son, politicians are like underwear - to keep them clean, you've got to change them often."
XP Pro is better - a lot of better than Home.

"Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."
Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton.

Basically for day to day use there is no difference.
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
I think pro baisically just has more options for networking.

Huh Have you read your licence agreement?Home can only be used on one PC whereas Pro can be used on 2
I currently have XP home running just fine on a Core 2 Duo with distinctly differing loads on the 2 cores so Home with SP2 definitely handles dual core just fine if thats what you mean?

The difference is purely networking services. Home for example only uses simple file sharing.
