It is 1461 and England is in the midst of the Wars of the Roses, with the bloodiest battle in English history, Towton, still fresh in the memory. Spain and France are growing ever stronger while the Portuguese have reached down as far as Sierra Leone in Africa, as the age of exploration is beginning. As there are more and more advances in technology and ship navigation, one can only wonder where else the brave journeymen might end up......

Across the Atlantic meanwhile the Inca have emerged as the dominant power in South America while the Aztecs also are spreading their dominance over Central Mexico. The Danes and Norwegians have been united under one crown via the Union of Kalmar. The Lords of the Isles are entering their glorious twilight years. The Swiss and Burgundians are perilously close and close to war, while the Moors are on their last legs in Spain and only hold Granada, and may well be driven out soon by the ever-advancing Spaniards. Gunpowder is becoming the prominent battle winner, and infantry now hold the advantage over cavalry. The world is a fast changing one, as new worlds will soon be discovered while old powers will fall by the wayside should they fail to move and advance with the turbulous times.
