What do you like best? EB or RTR?

I must admit I love EB the best. Just read my (very) critical summary of RTR:

Nobody, completly nobody who is a historian plays RTR. In someways it more hstorically inaccurate than vanillia RTW. For example RTR has all of the separate Greek Cities in the Eastern Med Unified under one banner (that includes Epirus!). Also the Germanic Tribes and the Gauls are unified too they never were historically. Also it has a very boring vannila style traits system, no goverments system, no nice new buildings for any factions, no reforms for non-Romans, Carthaginians who control land which they would not have controled and land that they would control is owned by somebody, a smaller and more boring map than EB and finally the Marius reforms happen dynamically at the same time as vannila.

Basically RTR is vannila with a AoR, a few new units and skins, two new factions, Baktria and Illyicra (losing two factions at the SAME TIME, Dacia and Britain), a couple of faction changes and a slightly larger map. Really you might as well play vannila!

i've tryed both, rtr is good, but EB is better, at first i thought that Eb sucked compared to RTR, but as time developed, and i got to understand what EB is all about, i started to love Eb, and no other mod...EB is unique, and although it a bit unfinished, it sweeps away all the competition...i'd like to see some features from rtr in EB though...some of it skins, and the big sub mods, and mini mods for RTR available to EB...

I think a poll like this is a little ungracious. I think that anyone would have to admit that RTR kept interest in RTW mods alive for a long time- I had put RTW back in the box for almost a year before I discovered RTR, and without it I never would have found out about EB, IBFD, ATW, LOTRTW, Hegemonia (can't wait!), Chiv Total War, BLue Lotus- I've had a look at all of them. I'm not saying that the RTR team is responsible for all those mods, but that by keeping interest in the game alive laid the groundwork for a host of high quality in depth modding like I've never seen for any other game. On many if not all of those mods the work is better than that of the commercial product, and for many of us expansions to RTW are only purchased in order to play the mods- I never even played Barbarian Invasion, just installed IBFD straight off.

So even if EB is far better than RTR in every respect (and of course it is), i think that RTR is owed some kind of gratitude, and just a little respect for plugging away and giving us playable versions (remember RTR 4 and 5?) long before ATW or EB came out. Thanks guys, for that.

I have strong opinions on this matter but it is probably better that I don't voice them. Threads like this lead to flame wars and people on mod teams getting annoyed, etc.

Can we get a lock on this? This is the worst possible place to ask the question and Matthius doesn't exactly come out as forum member that seeks good discussion or respects opinions, if you know what I'm saying.
