I talked with my dad about this earlier before he went to the airport (bound for the US). Most sad. As he said to me though, presuming that Hammond continues to improve he won't be too deep in it. Even if his time as a television presenter gets cut short, he'll still have his journalism career, and failing that his name to fall back on.

Gah. I remember seeing it on the news before any details were released. They just mentioned that he'd been in accident while filming and showed us a few pictures of the scene.. a few cars and a big pile of dirt. Didn't know what I was looking at until I heard that the jet-car had burried itself into the ground.
