Frankly, I'm hoping for something Indian or perhaps Illyrians.

Judging by the bits of a EB map that currently look kind of empty, I would guess that "Occultus" might be either the Belgae or Chatti (to fill in the gap between the Aedui and the Sweboz) or the Brigantes in Northern Britain. I have no info to back this up or anything, I just think those areas look suspiciously blank.

    Oh, come now.
There isn't enough room in Northern Europe for another faction (except maybe eastern europe...). Especially not in Britain.

I'd bet money the new faction is gonna pop up in either Arabia or North Africa. My guess is Arabia. And good thing if it is, since that area of the map is always so boring compared to Norther Europe or the East...flat yellow...

Not to mention gets taken by the Seleukids/Ptolemaioi far too easily.

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.

Lightbulb Re: What is this "Occultus"?

I am looking for something Arabian, perhaps the Sabaeans (the rulers of part of Arabia till 115BC) as that is the only part of the map that is really empty and pure rebel. The rest of the map has at least one "proper" faction (North Africa has Carthage, Italy has Rome, Greece has the Greek Alliance e.c.t.) so Arabia looks like the odd place out where nobody could be bothered to fill!

And I am celebrating again as this is my 60th post. YAY!

From what I have read on the Rebel's history page I think that Occulus will be either Pergamon, the Belgae or Sythia. It may also be the Brigantes (as said by Barbarossa82) the Chatii (also as said by Barbarossa82) or even a Scottish trive. Thing is I would LOVE to see an Arabian or a German faction. Another British faction would be nice too, but it can't be all of them . Thing is I don't think it's fair. There is some sort of rivalry between the two Gallic Tribes for Gaul, but the single Germanic tribe only has to fight rebels for Germania rather than fighting real factions. It's the same for the Casse too. They need another British tribe to bother them.

Oh and from the symbol on the Eastern Kingdom preveiw I think it is very barbarian. I hope it's Germanic if it is Barbarian or Arabian if it's not!

EDIT: I now have just realised that it couldn't be Barbarian -there are no Ibexes in Nothern Europe!

The faction I would love to see is some Pannonian tribe. There is just a huge empty space in there at the moment.
