Well, I've been using mods for as long as there have been mods for RTW; but I recently thought I'd spice up my vanilla/mod experience by adding custom skins too. Well, not just that. You see, I recently got RTW - Alexander by accident, and although I didn't quite know what to think of the game itself, I quickly found out one thing: The textures of Alex' Hoplites amused me. It was probably the purple/gold/red combination.
So; I figured I'd change the textures of the vanilla Armoured Hoplites to the Hoplites in Alexander. They had the exact same models, animations, weaponry and so on, everything else was the same save for their skin. (And probably the stats). Now; I wanted everything to remain the same as in Vanilla, the Armoured Hoplites would still be the same Armoured Hoplites in every way, SAVE FOR their skin. So I figured I'd simply give the Armoured Hoplites the skins of Alexander's Hoplites.
I went through the text files in question, ("Descr_model_battle", or something like that.), I quickly realised that the process was not as logical as it seemed at first. So I need your help. So to cut to the chase:
How do you give the units new textures?
(If someone here would actually have Alexander as well, and could help me directly,it'd be even better.)
So anyways; I'm sorry for coming in here, being all cocky and asking for help for something you pros probably consider so simple it's a formality, but I saw no stickied tutorials or anything.
So; all help is appreciated. Again, sorry if I've simply been bugging you with this mess.
