    My situation is even worse... i can`t use 3dmax until i dont make a major update to my computer , that would cost a fortune....

    I`ve heard that to a certain extant, Maya is compatible with 3dsmax... could i use Maya ? WIll it work ?

    Hmmm... we seriously need modellers, 2-3 of them....
    Unfortunately, most of the modders from the TW community are thinking of Medieval II.

    I have thought again about the suggestions some people give to us, that we should make the mod for Medieval II. Unfortunately, making a total conversion mod for Medieval II, at this moment, is practically impossible (due to the way CA made the game), and even if somewhere in a year or so the TW members could manage to crack somehow the game mechanisms, or CA release some help and information, making a modell/skin for a Medieval II unit, means 4 or 5 times more work than for a RTW one... It would be, more or less, a waste of time, considering the fact that we already know much about the whereabouts of RTW engine.

    This is my first experience with modelling... it scares me...
    It is a good start !! Make more attempts, and read some tutorials over there at the Scriptorium, and i`m sure that in 2-3 months you will be able to create realistic models with awesome skins

    I'll try to make a loading screen. It will be good practice for me learning to use GIMP before I find out how the DDS plugin works.

    damn it! I forgot how i made that mutation and now i can't do anything!
    Besides, the tutorials always go like: Oh, if you want to make a cool unit just press the "make a cool unit" buttonin the bottom of the screen...
    But there is No make-a-cool-unit button!!!!!
    Other tutorials say: .. Oh, it's very simple... Just adjust the Vj's 34500 to kilb799 and then check the grubsanajs for putting the righutinnings at 56,888...

    No, but I found a program that converts .dds to .tga, so that should work just as good. And yes, I am using GIMP.

    I know how to model in Blender, but it cant open the files...

    Is there something That can be done? Does the Vercingetorix tool work in Blender too?

    I dont know how to speak spanish, so I get lost when I read this thread...
    sorry I have not posted in a while...so many reports as to be ridiculous. Hand cramps from hell!!! Does anybody know where I can get some historical and tactical info for the unit descriptions? Also, soup nazi wishes to join us...something about 2d modelling...

    Hey I started to model an incan soldier on Blender... Its just the beggining i will improve it.

    It is not a model from rome total war but it shows what i could do if it were possible to import rtw files to BLENDER... IS IT POSSIBLE???

    I have a number of suggestions....

    We should turn our attention to 2D art.... leaving the 3D moddeling to the time some experienced moddelers will join us.

    We need :
    BUILDING ICONS (it would not be nice see dacian building icons for the Diaguita...)
    FACTION CHARACTER FACES (we are not going to let the Inca`s have roman faces !!!)
    NAMES (for the ones in wich we have info about the language, the ones belonging to groups with extinct languages will be left for later times when we get the necesarry info )
    LOADING SCREENS (the ones so farr are awesome, but we need more !)
    INTERFACES, MENU`S, ETC...

    Also, we will need to research for :

    CITYES, PROVINCES, RESOURCES, ETC....

    We need to name the provinces, we need to name the cityes.... and add the resources. After we got a working map, we could ask permission from the FATW members to implement the "regional lore" system.

    In the case there are no historically accurate names for the cityes and provinces from a certain region, we will make what CA did with Rome : give them generic names, but translated into quetchua , for the sake of some accuracy...

    Everybody who wants to join the mod is welcomed.
