Thank you. I wonder when we'll finish the beta? Guess there's no way to accurately predict that until it's done, so no one even answer that or it will either get our hopes up or make us sad.

Looking good guys. If I can give some advice, when modelling, use parts of the RTW models. The faces, heads, arms and bare torsos for example are well modelled and easy to adapt. I'd also suggests adapting the textures which go with these models, it's quick, and it looks great.

Personally I like to use RTW texture parts wherever I can, for example I made some standard chainmail textures using existing RTW patterns and the same for cloth textures. Clothes are then easy to make by adjusting the hue and shading of these standard textures.

If you have problems with the campaign map, I'm well practiced in debugging other mods campaign maps so feel free to ask. If I can find time, I'd like to contribute a model maybe?

    Good luck guys!

The models are being done from scatch from model sheets. Id like to remind everyone that these are not finished products. I've been trying to produce textures that can be upgraded by our team's skinners who are unable to model so that i personally have more time to spend on the models themselves. My models have the same, if not slightly less poly count than the vanilla RTW models at the highest LOD (Level of Detail).

There are a ton of models that need to be produced for this mod's completion. Some may get scrapped and redone if they're not up to spec. The more recent models have more polys in the face that i left out on the only posted one here on this site.

You'll see what we can realy do in about a month's time.

Also, adjusting hues on textures does not produce the best results, and not a good idea when we need to produce checkered patterns.

I'm just saying you can save effort by using certain specific parts of the RTW ones, they're perfectly good.

Also, adjusting hues on textures does not produce the best results, and not a good idea when we need to produce checkered patterns.
True indeed, but it's very quick, and chequered patterns can be done in a cheap and cheerful way by adjusting hue's in combination with contrast.

Just to be clear, I'm not criticising in any way, just my 2 pence. There's a lot of work that needs to be done to produce all the models for a mod, and the things I'm suggesting can just speed up the process a little.

I think we should give the music a rest until either we find someone who has a lot of experience in composing music or one of us figures out how to compose our own music.

Yeah, until then let's concentrate on other things that we know we can do. How's the map going, is it done?

Caius Flaminius says the map is almost done, but he hasn't been on in a long time...

yeah...I know. But it is something quick and easy to make compared to modeling and scripting.

Some modding isn't that hard really. With the guide for traits in the scripitorium and some self-teaching, I learned almost all I need to know about making traits and retinue in just 2 or 3 days, for a few hours every one of those days.

i could help with some text editing, im a pretty decent editor, and i can edit most things concerning the campaign, like the map and inputing the regions in text. so basically text stuff. i am also an adept musician, probably capable of composing, but im not sure what kind music you want it to sound like, but i can certainly try. due to the fact that i am basically modding unexpected total war myself - not due to the fact that caius flaminius doesnt want to, he just doesnt have as much time for it -, i wont have as much time to mod for this, but i can certainly do an obb job here or there. just pm me with any thing you need. and concerning composing, i can do a basic melody right now using a sax, but i might get a program at christmas, so i can do the rest of the songs. again, just pm me.

hey guys, I posted earlier in your thread on the mod discussion forum. I have experience with texting, specifically diplomacy and quotes, as well as research and description writing/integration. I can also learn how to do pretty much anything else fast. If you guys want help you can assign me a job. :)

We have a Pre Beta for only team members (it is only the basic framework of the mod, 3 factions + random text files)

I would be only too happy to do three things for this mod to start.

    1: test
2: do the diplomacy - I have practice from EB
    3: research and implement traits

I can also later do extensive research as I have three university libraries at my disposal as well as some books on the Aztecs and other native mexican groups at home. Just PM the passwords for the e-mail address to me and I will start proving my usefulness as best I can. :)

We don't have the map done yet, so you probably can't test yet. I just asked on our forum which text files we have done (if any) since having some done or not affects what we'll do for most of the files.
