Just an idea I thought I would jump in with...

Why not make the Inca very prone to rebellions? Perhaps have a chance that, every time the faction leader dies, a 'Rebel Inca' faction will spring up?

From what I've read, power struggles were pretty common after the death of a Sapa Inca, and some of the resulting wars could be quite bloody. Apparently the Spanish arrived after a particularly nasty war.

Such a scheme would seriously limit the Inca ability to expand, since they would need to keep sizable armies around to deal with rebels, hence limiting their cash intake, while allowing them to keep their historical battlefield l33tness.

Hmm, I'm not sure if that's possible, but if it is then I think that is a brilliant idea! If anyone knows any way to implement this, please post how we could do it.

A sciript we need for doing that

    OR

Giving the Inca faction leader much points of happiness, when he dies, the city will make a rebelion.

Then we modify the rebels to pop up as

    Inca Rebels.

    Nice idea!!!

    Another idea...

Why not make it possible to, after the Spanish invasion, sail to Europe?
Provided, of course, you can beat off the Spanish. Consider the TW mechanics though, that shouldnt be terribly difficult, unless the "Spanish Arrival' event automatically kills off half your population :P
Perhaps even giving the native tribes gunpowder?
After all, I gather that a lot of the native tribes were pretty smart people, and I bet they wouldnt hesitate to let some Spanish 'Voluntiers' live in exchange for their help building ships and weapons.

This would add some variety to the gameplay, and give players something to look forward to after the Spanish invade.

Plus I really want to march my Sapa Inca into Madrid and burn it to the ground ;)

Not that long before...only like 100 or 200 years. Besides, we were contemplating a while back whether we should factor in the spanish invasin or not. I do personally think we should. Itd be great! Like mt2w from the perspective of the Incans!

Well if its only 100-200 years back then it would be great idea, just one problem, when would the timeline finish for it?

Ah, I thought the timeline was already going up to the Spanish Invasion...

Anyway, I imagine the timeline would (as in the scripted events) would end when the last Spanish city in the New World was taken out. Or, if that wouldnt work, perhaps create a 'Conquistadors' or 'New World Spanish' faction thats seperate from the 'real' Spanish?
That might lead to some wierd situations (IE: New World Spain at war with Old Spain in the 1500's >_>), but there might be a way to work around that, or just ignore it ;)

Thats what was planned upon. There are ways to keep your "new world spain" From going to war with Spain. Considering they acted more or less seperately once they landed,it would also be more accurate.

We should have it that they will have a fear factor aginst the spainsh untill the they are able to defaet them(the spanish). then, they would have the opportunity to snag some European weapons and armor, and with captives, will be able to learn how to create them.

I thought we weren't including the spanish....

Perhaps the mod's timeline could go between 1197(rise of the incan empire) and 1492(America is discovered by columbus)

What about an expansion of Inca?

You know, a new map, new units and all the stuff.

I know, we must finish Inca first.

It has been discussed. It would be named Ica: Total War The Spanish invasion, but we cant think in an expansion if we haven't finished the first mod...

I would like to point out Columbus did in fact not discover America, vikings had visited it before. Vikings such as Leif Eriksson(?). Columbus was just credited with finding America from those arrogant Europeans of the time.

Actually, they think that it may have been discovered before that, as some ancient Phonecian artifacts have been found on the east coast.

Yes, I read that they found a Phoenician looking face on a mug in Guatemala, but I was just pointing out that people are 100% the Vikings did "discover" America before Columbus, but despite all the evidence, they are not 100% sure if the Phoenicians "discovered" America.

I put discover in quotations because it was discovered from a European stand point, while it was actually being lived on so much longer than that, like 10 000 years or something, at the time of the lsst ice age when there was a temporary bridge between Alaska and Russia.

ps. I would just like to point ou that this thread. is getting really off topic some times.

Yes yes I know, I didn't even try to make them go in the right places because I knew I would probably be wrong anyway. Just pay attention to the idea: putting numbers on a map for where the potential cities are going to be, then naming the cities underneath the map.

Im afraid thats a question that only antarki can answer.

but im pretty sure that i read that incas were constantly attacked by balanced foes, and were about to be defeated in a couple of those battles..
