Nah, family guy's jokes are random, meaningless and have nothing to do with the storyline of the episode. Watch South Park's 2 part episode 'Cartoon Wars' to see what I mean.

Family Guy and South Park rely on and crude, vulgar jokes and shock to get laughs. The Simpsons (and by logical extension, Futurama) have much better writing (sophisticated, subtle, witty) that lead to much better shows. There's a reason you can watch a Simpsons episode multiple times and find new stuff...

Essentially: Simpsons > Futurama (this is not my personal view, but what I feel to be the correct view) and I'm not going to bother putting Family Guy or South Park in the same category.

I view Futurama and The Simpsons as interesting shows with more family firnedly content. South Park and Family Guy are just funnier.
